immigration bill goes down in flames

A massive defeat to the Immigration bill today. This is the second time that the bill has been defeated and as a spectator I was stunned how there was such a forceful attempt to jam the bill down the throats of the American people. Now if anyone in the government is listening the message is clear. Stop the insanity. This is not about immigration, it is about illegal aliens. Our educational system, our health care system, our legal system are all drowning in our schizophrenic society where we can't bring ourselves to make the decisions that ultimately we must make.

And those are:

1. Secure the borders.
2. Allow work visa's to fill documented need for workers.
3. Deport illegals, their families and their little dog Toto.
4. Do not provide non-emergent health care or education to illegals or children of illegals.
5. Enforce penalties against companies that hire illegals.
6. Make sure that all those granted immigration status are healthy and educated in fields that the United States needs.
7. Speak English.

Try it for 10 years and let's see if things are better.

Double standard???

I find it interesting that there is no big backlash from the comment that Rosie O'donnall made this weekend:

"I got to tell you, I've been hanging around with those heteros for a full year and it's not fun," she said. "Turn around one minute and they'll stab you in the back with a high heel. They will."

What would have happened if one of those heteros had commented on the viciousness of Rosie and her sexuality. Imagine if a hetero had been afraid that she might be hit in the head with a combat boot.

Double standard?

Stop the War.... On Drugs

Stop the War on Drugs!!! It is not working! It never has and never will work. If people want to get high they will. If there is money to be made by selling drugs people will sell drugs. This is a medical problem not a legal problem. Don't put people in jail for selling and using drugs, it only fills up the jail space and forces the release of really dangerous criminals. Legalize all drugs and take the profit out of selling them. If drugs didn't cost so much the addicts wouldn't have to steal my motorboat to pay for them. There are plenty of laws on the books that will protect us from any drug user that otherwise breaks the law, such as DUI. Just try it for the next 30 years. It can't be any bigger of a mess than the War on Drugs is now.

Portland does it again

Portland makes the news with a huge illegal alien bust. Most of the illegals had phony identification provided by a local employment agency. Good job by the feds, you would think. But no, says the mayor and ex-police chief of Portland. As usual the leadership in Portland would naturally support the criminal. Stop the insanity!!!

Let's not torture the girl

Enough is enough. Let Paris serve out her sentence and get on with her life. Yes she has lived a spoiled privileged life and you would have too if you were born into that family. The legal system should treat her like all the other offenders. No better and no worse. Don't make an example out of her. Just hand out the punishment. No torture. It's like pulling the wings off of a butterfly. I know how we like to see the mighty fall, but she is not mighty. She is just a 26 year old kid that acted arrogant and out of control. Let it go.
