Chickens

I recently heard of a book which draws attention to the inhumane treatment of animals in the food industry. One example is the way chickens are transported in huge semi's stuffed into thousands of small cages, where they can't move. This got me to thinking about how transportation for us humans has changed over the years. At one time taking a trip by train or plane was an elegant event, calling for appropriate dress and deportment. Not so anymore. Today we are just chickens in a cage.
