What's the new crisis?

Keep us scared of something. I'm old enough to remember "Duck and Cover". The Soviet's are going to kill us. The spread of Communism. There is a commie behind every bush. There was an enemy out there somewhere and we rally the troops to fight them. But then it changed to be afraid of the environment or even ourselves. How many hurricanes this year? Global warming is our fault? Well not mine, I assure you. Who is responsible for any problems that we face? Someone always has to take the hit.

Now it is the obesity crisis. Parents are even at risk of having their children removed from their custody due to the child being over weight. Hell, there have always been fat kids and some of them turn into fat adults. So what? Trust me the fat people know they are fat and most want to be thin. Even the un-fat amongst us want to be thinner. That's the way it is... Shut up and leave us alone. Tell the Ethiopians that we have an obesity crisis and I bet they say to send a double helping to them. This is not a problem people. We have free will to choose what and how much we eat. That is a good thing. Run your own miserable lives and keep your noses out of the rest of our lives.
